  Davis is a charming city of about 65,000 people that is conveniently located for business and leisure. It is on the interstate 80 highway.  Sacramento is 15 minutes to the east and San Francisco is just over one hour to the west.  Davis is the home to the University of California, Davis, known globally for it's quality academic programs. Physics, Vet Medicine, Viticulture, Ecology, Political Science, and Environment are just some of the areas that bring acclaim.


A sensible, slow growth policy allows Davis to maintain its small town atmosphere and offer a wonderful setting for the family. Schools are excellent ( visit the school district site) and sports and cultural programs abound for both children and adults. A bond, passed by Davis voters, improves the programs and physical condition of our schools. School test scores have remained the very best in the entire region.


Bicycles are a major form of transportation. The location is very convenient. Lake Tahoe and the Sierras, less than two hours away, offer skiing and mountain activities. The Napa and Sonoma wine country is a scenic hour drive. "Silicon Valley" and the California coast are less than two hours away. The Sacramento Airport is as easily accessed from Davis as it is from Sacramento.


Public transportation is also readily available. The Yolo County Transportation District provides extensive service to include service into Sacramento. U C Davis has its own Unitrans bus service. Amtrak also serves Davis with a station right in downtown.
